O*NET® Interest ProfilerTM Services

The O*NET Interest Profiler is a vocational interest assessment instrument. Users receive an accurate, reliable profile of their vocational interests that:
- helps them identify their work-related interests,
- focuses career search activities, and
- enables them to link their vocational interests to O*NET-SOC occupations.
You can provide the Interest Profiler to your own site's audience through a direct web link, by including our embeddable widget, or by using our web service API. The feature is available in English or Spanish.
Direct Web Link
The Interest Profiler is available free of charge on the web at My Next Move. To link to it directly, use the following URL:

Embeddable Widget
Adding the Interest Profiler as part of your own site is easy with our embeddable widget. By adding a small snippet of HTML to your site, your visitors have a convenient way to learn about and start taking the Interest Profiler from your own site.
Sign up now for our free developer program, and you'll receive HTML code for adding the Interest Profiler widget to your site.
Web Services API
Want to integrate Interest Profiler results with your own career tools and information? With our RESTful web services API, you can take advantage of the Interest Profiler’s scoring algorithm and structure while providing a unified, customized experience for your audience. The API provides the 30-question “Mini-IP” as well as a 60-question version when accuracy is more important than speed. In the first half of 2026, an expanded API will cover the full set of filtering and sorting options found in the latest web version.
See our Reference Manual for complete documentation on our Interest Profiler and other web services. Then sign up for our developer program to add these services to your own site or application.
Spanish Language Version
The Spanish-language Interest Profiler from Mi Próximo Paso can also be added to your site. We provide both an embeddable widget and a full web services API. Sign up for our free developer program to receive HTML code for the widget and to access the web services.
